Sealed Bids for the Vista Theater / Leggett Building Renovation Project will be received at 510 7th Street; Altavista, Virginia 24517, until 2:00 PM local prevailing time on May 28, 2025, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

The project consists of the remediation of the Theater / Leggett Building, located at 522 and 528 Main Street, Altavista, Virginia 24517. Work shall include abatement/removal and proper legal disposal of asbestos-containing materials, work related to remediation/removal/stabilization of lead-based paint coated surface, and other hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, and legal offsite disposal of removed items and materials. Bids shall be on a Lump Sum basis.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10 AM local time on April 28, 2025, at the Town of Altavista, Town Office, followed by a site visit.

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be in accordance with procedure (i) of Section 2.2 - 4330 of the Code of Virginia.

BIDDER’S attention is invited to the requirements of Section 54.1 of the Code of Virginia pertaining to registration and contractor licensure. The bidder shall place on the outside of the envelope containing the bid and shall place in the bid over his signature whichever of the following notations is appropriate:

"Licensed Class A Virginia Contractor No. ."

"Licensed Class B Virginia Contractor No. ."
