Sealed BIDS for rehabilitation of the Troutville Water Tank (the “Project”) will be received at the Town of Troutville Office, 5419 Lee Highway, Troutville, VA 24175 until 2:00 P.M. local prevailing time on February 1, 2024 and then, at said office, publicly opened and read aloud.
The project will provide rehabilitation for the Town’s main elevated water storage tank in the
distribution system. Contractor shall slowly drain the 125,000 gallon elevated water storage tank
to the Route 11 storm sewer system, via installation of temporary plastic pipe, working with
Town staff on pipe alignment and drainage rate. Contractor shall install, maintain, and operate a
temporary tank pressure system, as shown in the Contract Documents, to maintain public water
system flow and pressure while the tank is offline. Contractor shall blast clean and paint both
the interior and exterior, including replicating the existing TROUTVILLE logo on two sides of
the tank, as described in the Contract Documents. Contractor shall also make necessary safety
improvements noted in the Contract Documents. Upon completion of tank painting, disinfection,
and refilling, Contractor shall remove the temporary pressure system, restore disturbed areas, and
place the water tank back in service. All work will be performed in accordance with the Contract
Documents and to the satisfaction of the Town of Troutville.

A complete set of Bidding Documents (plans, specifications, and contract documents) may be
obtained from the office of Hurt & Proffitt, Inc., 2524 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501
(telephone 434-847-7796) upon non-refundable payment of $100.00 per set by check or money
order. A complete set of documents for the Project may be downloaded free of charge from
http://www.handp.com/. Include complete street mailing address with zip code, telephone and
fax number with area code, and contractor’s license number, if applicable. No partial sets will be
distributed. The contact person for the project with Hurt & Proffitt is Mike Wilson, PE.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid conference held at 1 pm on January 18, 2024 at the
